📖 The Seven Magic Notes (Sapta Swara)
Just like 7 colors make a rainbow, 7 special notes make all Indian music! They are called Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni. Tap any note to hear it!
NoteFull NameWhat Makes It Special
SaShadja🏠 The "home" note. Every song starts and ends here. It never changes!
ReRishabh🐂 Named after a bull (Rishabh). It sounds calm and peaceful.
GaGandhar😊 The happy note! It makes music feel bright and joyful.
MaMadhyam⚖️ The "middle" note. It's the bridge between lower and upper notes.
PaPancham💪 The strong, bold note. Like Sa, it never changes! Best friends with Sa.
DhaDhaivat🌟 A graceful note that makes music sound elegant and beautiful.
NiNishad🎯 The last note before we reach high Sa again. It creates excitement!
💡
Did you know? The word "Sargam" comes from the first four notes: Sa-R(e)-Ga-M(a)! Just like "Do Re Mi" in Western music, Indian music uses Sa Re Ga Ma.
🔒 Achal Swaras (Notes that Never Change)
Sa and Pa are like the pillars of a building — they always stay the same. No matter what song you sing, Sa and Pa never move!
🔄 Vikrit Swaras (Notes that Can Change)
The other 5 notes (Re, Ga, Ma, Dha, Ni) are flexible:
Komal (Flat) — a softer, lower version (like whispering)
Tivra (Sharp) — a brighter, higher version (only Ma can do this!)
